Planning and Crafting Your Writing

<p>Spend 5 minutes planning before writing. A simple structure prevents you from running out of ideas.</p>
<h3>Simple Narrative Plan</h3>
<ol>
<li><strong>Opening</strong> — Setting and character introduced, atmosphere established</li>
<li><strong>Build-up</strong> — Tension or curiosity grows</li>
<li><strong>Problem/Climax</strong> — The main event or conflict</li>
<li><strong>Resolution</strong> — How things are resolved</li>
<li><strong>Ending</strong> — A final image, thought, or twist</li>
</ol>
<h3>Marks are awarded for:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Communication: does the writing work for its purpose and audience?</li>
<li>Organisation: is it structured clearly with effective paragraphs?</li>
<li>Vocabulary: is language varied, precise, and effective?</li>
<li>Sentence structure: is there variety and control?</li>
<li>SPaG: spelling, punctuation, grammar</li>
